“I have been Avery’s horse trainer and coach for the past several years. Avery is one of those students who make my job fun! When Avery joined our program, we had only a couple weeks to prepare her for the biggest show she had competed in to date. With the limited time, I pushed hard to help her be at her best. She never once complained about the work or critique. She understands that success comes from working hard. From early morning schooling sessions to taking care of her horse after the show is finished for the night, she is always willing to put the time in. She has been a great ambassador for my showing team by helping other members with preparation and encouragement. Avery would be a great asset to any team. She is a natural born leader with a wonderful work ethic and great heart.”

“As one of Avery’s trainers, I can’t say enough about this young lady. She came into my barn a couple of years ago, being abandoned by her former trainer just two weeks out from the biggest horse show of her career. Avery now had two new trainers, a new barn and a new program to deal with before she was to show at the AQHYA World Show. We were honest with Avery in the fact that she was nowhere near where she needed to be in order to compete at a World Show. But if she was willing, we would do our best to make her presentation respectable. Well, Avery rode more in those two weeks than I think she had ever ridden her whole life. She was up early helping get chores done so we could start riding every day without complaining one bit. Of course, we had some frustration and tears along the way, but she kept her eye always on the main goal of learning new things and changing bad habits. She became a team player and has been a motivator to younger kids in the barn. She has grown in all aspects the past few years and is now a big part of our show family. Avery would make a wonderful addition to your team without a doubt.”

“Avery Bergan is an awesome asset to any situation she is in. I have had the pleasure of having Avery in class this year. The energy and enthusiasm she brings lift up the entire classroom. Teaching math, I find that a lot of people come in defeated, but Avery always comes in with a smile and a willingness to learn. She is great about asking questions to ensure her understanding and is not scared to be wrong and learn from it. I have also had the joy of coaching her on the high school dance team. All the same characteristics hold true in that environment as well. She is not afraid to put herself out there and try new things. She knows that perfection is not instantaneous and works hard to acquire new skills as fast as possible.”
